. . . Alligator Creek . . .
A beautiful camp spot approx. 30 mins south of Townsville, at the Bowling Green Bay National Park.
At just over $5/night each, you can camp in crisp forest style at this national park....with loads of wildlife, beautiful scenery plus cold showers and flushing toilets.
Take a short stroll to the end of the day-rest area, and follow a forest boardwalk that takes you down to the freshwater creek swimming hole......
That's right, I said swimming hole - no croc's here!

You can take a 16km bush walk if you are super keen at hiking, or for a shorter more interesting experience; stop at Cockatoo Creek (only 4kms) and then follow the creek downstream. Be ready for climbing over massive boulders and swimming across some of the water holes along the way. You will eventually end up at the freshwater creek swimming hole.
Alligator Creek is up there with our top fav's so far. Loved staying here and we will definitely visit here again one day.
