Richmond . . .
We loved Richmond! The perfect end to the dinosaur trail with the most impressive museum in town - Kronosaurus Korner. We stayed at the Free RV camp in town, a vacant lot with bins, water and a dump point, and amazing sunsets. The free RV camp is up the road from Lake Fred Tritton; a beautiful, serene lake for swimming, fishing and water sports.... complete with its own jeddy. Free showers are around the corner at the roadhouse.
Kronosaurus korner was fantastic!!! We loved this museum; equipped with individual hand held audio playing remotes for each person. The museum has its own laboratory where fossils are cleaned up and uncovered, and a little theatre playing interesting dinosaur facts. We thoroughly enjoyed this museum.
A short 12km drive north out of town takes you to the allocated fossil digging area... free to dig. We found some interesting fossils dated 80-110 million years old.
