Gorge Rock Pool
Fires along the West Coast of WA were so fierce that we couldn't get through the Forrest highway southbound from Mandurah.
We decided to head inland; East along highway #40.
Our first stop along the way was Gorge Rock Reserve. A little piece of preserved history that was once a thriving hot spot.or local farmers alike..... the locals hangout - this place was the local's pool back in 1953. The perfect place to cool down on a hot summers day; Gorge Rock Pool was a community hangout for everyone nearby to have meetings, gatherings and a swim.
After some time a pool was constructed in town; and so this iconic piece of summer time was let go in a sense that the water wasn't upkept and deemed unsafe for swimming.
The original diving board framework is still present today.
