Winton - Long waterhole . . .
Winton is a stepping stone in the Dinosaur trail, smack dang in the middle of QLD. We stayed at Long Waterhole Free camp. A great little spot with a muddy dam - which I can say has definitely got fish in it. Not so sure about Redclaw though; we didn't catch any of them. No toilets or showers, you must be completely self-contained - but great for stopping over and catching up on the local attractions.
At the information centre you will find the Waltzing Matilda Centre. The bins are funny around town - all encased within a dinosaur foot!

The boys thoroughly enjoyed playing around on the drums at the musical fence in Winton. Click on the picture below to hear the boy's music...
A 1.5 hour drive to the Lark Quarry will take you right to the Stampede that occurred over 95million years ago! It was well worth the drive.

Arno's wall (also in town) is a treat to see - loads of machinery backdating for years is encased within this long wall.
