We had a prime location at Carmila Beach set back a little amongst the trees and bush turkeys. The boys were stoked with so many trees to climb - it entertained them every day for hours. There were so many shells along the shore line that trickled all the way up to the point; as well as dried out coral, driftwood and skeletons of fish. Our private front yard was located in between two creeks and looked onto the rolling waves.
We went exploring around the area by foot and by car.... lots of beautiful spots to see - but not swim! Kids are hanging for a swim. Matt caught a 900cm long Threadfin Salmon off the beach, and was quite the envy of fellow fishermen staggered along the shoreline.
The tides at Carmila go out a long way and reveal a blanket of marine life to discover. We were very lucky to arrive and have two turtles on the sand flats, and then another the next morning. We walked all the way out to the turtle and again we had to be careful of cone snails.
Matt pulled out two cars while we were staying here at Carmila Beach. He scored a carton of Great Northern out of the second rescue - thanks pajero driver!
