Dean & Melissa are the managers of Wintersun Caravan & Tourist Park here in Carnarvon; and would have to be 2 of the most happy-go-lucky people we've met along our travels. Melissa greets you at the office upon arrival, answering all of your questions and educating you about popular sights and places of interest around the town of Carnarvon. Dean meets you at your allocated site and helps you to back in your van and directs you to the nearest tap, sullage and powerpoint to plug in to. You can wash your van and car onsite for a small fee as well.
You will often see Dean driving around the park on many a different vehicle; one being a little water truck they use to wet down the roads here in the caravan park to avoid dust blowing onto campers.... great idea!
The park grounds are green, shady and manicured to a very high standard. Sites are conveniently located, most on concrete slabs and spacing between sites provides ample room to enjoy that little bit of privacy we all crave.
The current rate for a site is $38/night for 2 x people, however during off-peak season (Nov-Mar) they have a deal where you
pay for 2 x nights and stay for 3 x nights.
During the Christmas holidays, kids stay free!

Another option for Accommodation at Wintersun Caravan & Tourist Park is to stay in one of their humble chalets.
Sunsets are especially beautiful from the caravan park; gorgeous glowing oranges and yellows coat the sky in a fluffy array of golden warmth.
A children's playground is located on the western side of the park - complete with swings, slide, monkey bars and a rolling platform... our boys practically lived at the playground and have the blister's to prove that they gave the monkey bars a good workout.
The amenities here are designed with privacy in mind.... toilets have walls to the floor, bright coloured emblems allocate each cubicle, showers are hot with good pressure and conveniently have an abundance of hooks and a bench in each cubicle for your belongings. The basins are immaculate and have a soap dispenser and hand dryer to complete your experience. The best part of all - is the groovy music playing 24/7 to highlight your visit and put a groove in your step.
The laundry facilities are spacious, washing machines take $4/load and have 2 x huge basins.
Clotheslines are conveniently placed in the park for your use.

The pool area is a great place to kick back and settle in to a nice book, sitting in the lounging chairs provided before jumping in to the refreshing pool for a swim under the shady sails of yellow and blue... surrounded by lush gardens.
The camp kitchen is situated right next to the pool and provides heaps of shade while watching your kids have a dip in the pool. Outdoor wooden picnic tables provide seating suitable for small and big groups. The camp kitchen supplies guests with 2 x BBQ plates, kitchen appliances, stove top and plenty of room to keep your food and drinks cool/frozen in the refrigerators/freezer provided.
Our boys hung out in the camp kitchen quite a bit, enjoying the communal television while playing games and drawing at the table and chairs.

During mid season & peak season here at Wintersun Caravan & Tourist Park, the huge recreation room provides a place for guests to attend gentle gym classes, craft get-togethers, concerts and fundraisers among other events. The park invites those who are musically minded to bring their talents along and entertain in the recreation room up on the stage.
The Wintersun Caravan & Tourist Park also offers an affordable option to cooking each week.... On Thursday evenings at 6pm, the park puts on a Sausage Sizzle for guests for a mere $6/person. You receive 2 x sausages, a bun, salad, caramelised onions, sauces and ice-cream! It's a great way to meet your neighbours and share stories. Our little chef Noah was very happy to be allowed to help cook the sausages at the Thursday night Sausage Sizzle - he made sure everyone in the park knew about it beforehand, encouraging many guests to attend and enjoy his cooking.
They also run a morning tea Pancakes on the deck at the front of the park every Monday morning for guests at $5/person. You receive 2 x giant pancakes, jam & cream, lemon & sugar, maple syrup and coffee or tea....Yum!
On the south side of the park there is a gloriously, luscious bowling green for use by keen bowling guests. For a $10 deposit; all equipment is provided and the day is yours to bowl your life away.
The Annual Bowling Carnival is held here at the Caravan Park during the months of June, July and August each year.

Keep an eye out for the Breadcrumb Trail treasure - left in a secret spot within the Park. This one has Carnarvon's well-known 1 Mile Jetty painted on it.
