St. lawrence
St. Lawrence was a very little town with old buildings, a wetlands walk, cows, a little hidden shack and a couple of boat ramps.
The main street has quaint little old buildings that stand as the pub, the petrol station/shop, the post office and teeny tiny library.
The free camp is set on the side of a racecourse with awesome showers ($1 for 3mins.) and flushing toilets. It has a dump spot and drinking water and a couple of nice little spots on gardens and grassy area's with tables and chairs in the shade.
You can stay here for a week if you like - but we hung around and covered the town and fishing spots in 3 days.

At one boat ramp the tide was very low and all you could see was mud and muddy water with little beady eyed mullet swimming half out of the water.
We pulled out the stove and had a cuppa - by the time we had finished our cuppa, the tide was high and flowing fast. Apparently it's the 3rd fastest tide in Australia.

We found the secret location of the hidden little shack, not too far from camp and then went over the railway bridge to see if we could see a train - No trains!
Back at camp we came across a snake. I dead-set nearly stepped on it! Even after going to 'Snakes down under' at Childer's, I still didn't know if it was poisonous or not - so we kept our distance.
It was a cranky snake, slithering through the garden, looking for a mouse!

While we were in Rockhampton, Azza Monckton entertained us with his snake impressions - click on the link below to see the snake clip. (It's stupid I know, but that's what makes it funny)
