Carnarvon WA ...
Carnarvon in Western Australia is a nice little town... best known for its produce and plantations, Satellite Dish, and 1 Mile Jetty.
Town centre has an array of shops in the main street with pretty much everything you could need in a tiny town. A good sized shopping mall is right in the centre of town - with woolworths, chemist, newsagent, and a few other little shops you would expect to find in a centre.

1 Mile Jetty (built in 1897) was constructed in 1897 to export livestock and wool to Fremantle. Carnarvon was the first port iin Western Australia which loaded livestock on board ships for transport to markets. During its time, 1 Mile Jetty was used to drive sheep and cattle like an animal run from holding yards where the café stands today.

The local playground in Carnarvon is AMAZING! It has a long flying fox (for adults too in my opinion), swings, slides, and many different types of equipment that I haven't seen before. We played so hard that Cahil spewed when we got home!
Another place of interest in Carnarvon is the Gwoonwardu Mia - Gascoyne Aboriginal Heritage and Cultural Centre.
Burlganyja wanggaya (old people talking).... is an interactive permanent exhibition that tells the stories of the Gascoyne's Aboriginal people in their own words.
You can also visit the School of the Air here in Carnarvon... see how the children in outback regions interact with their teachers and complete their distance education from remote locations. You must book to visit during school terms.
