Such a beautiful town and HOT HOT HOT! Darwin is so hot like summer but it was winter when we were there. The dry season is certainly very dry.... and although I would love to see the wet season, I don't think that I could stand the humidity!
We originally stayed at Coolalinga Caravan park but we felt is was over priced, unfriendly and over half an hour from Darwin city. So we moved to Lee point Caravan village - similar pricing ($375/week power), but close to town (14 mins), to the beach up the road at Lee point (5 mins), and the boat ramp at Buffalo creek just around the corner from us.

Talking about Buffalo Creek - Matt fished a lot down there both on the bank and out in our tinny, with different friends along the way.
Of course you need to cool off in this Darwin heat and there are 4 places we found super refreshing!

We were lucky to be around when the yearly "Beer Can Regatta" was on in Darwin - at Mindil Beach. It was a great day with heaps of activities happening. The Mindil Markets were on all day and went on in to the evening.
Darwin also has an abundance of interesting history that is available to see.... such as:
The Aviation Heritage Centre
Here you will find planes and memorabilia from crashes from WWII. It is home to the B52 bomber.
Darwin Military Museum
Also a great place to view some huge machinery from WWII.
The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory
This was my favourite... lots of different exhibits including aboriginal artifacts, art and cyclone Tracy.
East Point was stunning with its cliff face drops down to the shoreline. A nice place to stop for a bit of lunch...stunning views!
Other places worth a mention also are the Crocodylus Park, Crocosaurus cove, the Mindil Markets and an old jail near Fanny Bay.
